No temptation such as is common to man.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

1 Corinthians 10:13

Temptation has existed for a long time. Temptations of today are just like temptations of yesterday; the differences will be in modes of transmission due to technological and other developments.

Man’s natural course of action is to follow the most beaten path. We tread in the ways of those who have passed.

It would be so much better for us to learn from what is no longer; to heed the warnings from the past.

There is no temptation that has not been offered to man. Throughout the ages, at least one person would have been under the influence of something that is now influencing you.

We are cautioned to be aware of the punishments of God’s chosen people when they went against his Will.

For idolatry and paganism, they were punished; for sexual immorality; for testing God and for grumbling. They were punished as reminders to those in the future that it is in their interest to seek God’s will.

His way is perfect; his word is tried. He is faithful.

In the face of temptation, we are allowed to make our own decisions. If that decision is one which brings us more than we can bear, more than we can resist, then God will provide a way out for us.

The point is that we are given a certain amount of freedom; freedom of choice, given all associated rewards and punishments. We are left to make our choice but there is an escape route through God if we are believers.

Do have a blessed day! Thank you for reading and let me know if you think that God has been your rescue at any time.
